Nice setting in an old church, and a nice e patio. Brunch was not as good as we expected - not much on the menu, and the server wasn't very friendly. Probably won't go back again.
I came into the Heartland cafe for a quick bite to eat after work, I was pleasantly surprised! I have lived in okotoks for about a year now and have just now got to try the food, from this amazing place. The first thing I always check in a restaurant is the bathroom, if the bathroom is clean then you know the rest of the establishment is, but man the washroom was clean enough to eat from, but anyways I had the burger and the tomato soup, was I ever happy the patty was cooked to perfection, the bun and veggies were fresh and the soup was to die for. I was also very happy to see that the heartland cafe had a extensively stocked bar with a very knowledgeable staff. I then finished off with one of there amazing desserts!! Overall one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in a long time!
Ive been here with family twice now, once for breakfast and dinner. Both times the food was fantastic, service was great and atmosphere is charming. I definitely recommend going!
I have been going to the restaurant for two years, and what a breath of fresh air it is now! The patio, one of the best in town, has all new furniture and the hedge trimmed so you can enjoy drinks and a meal while seeing what's happening in the public space. We went for dinner last night and I was delighted to see linen tablecloths, and we were treated to fantastic service, complete with candles, flowers and some new appetizers to try out. Our entrees were delicious and my girlfriend was invited to their wine cellar to choose a wine. I can't wait for the new menu and wine list! Finally, Okotoks has a beautiful place for a romantic dinner complete with good food, wine and service. It's about time that beautiful old building was owned by people with heart and passion!
My husband and I went here quite some time ago and we hesitant to return based on the quality of food and service. But we pleasantly surprised on how much they've stepped up their game. We were promptly greeted as we arrived and I had asked if we can sit on the patio as it was a beautiful day outside. We were seated and drink orders received quickly. I had ordered the Heartland Benedict and my husband had The Traditional Breakfast. Everything was delicious! The potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly with a little bit of rosemary and I'm not sure if they make their own muffins for their benedict but they were soft with a little bit of chew which is perfect. Hubby really enjoyed the bread that came with his breakfast as well. Only thing I would've liked better if the coffee for the B52 was a little bit stronger as that's just my preference. Our server was attentive and kind. Overall we had a very great visit and we look forward to returning for brunch again! Please give hats off for the staff!Dined in the AM of June 3.
